Atlanta Falcons Pre-Season Preview

This will be my first time looking at a pre-season game. However it’s my Falcons, and I said what the hell.

Today at 8.pm in Canton, Ohio two teams trying to bounce back from terrible seasons last year and to kick off the 2019 pre-season.

This years Hall of Fame game features  my Atlanta Falcons(7-9) against the Denver Broncos(6-10).

If you looking for starters this isn’t the game for you. This game you will see rookies and plenty of the others players trying to make the NFL rosters.

What you will see is our new revamp Offensive line and our New Defensive Coach which is our Head Coach Dan Quinn.

This game you will get a chance to see rookies and undraftted players to evaluate them in game time situations. Last season we were riddled with several key players from injuries these preseason games we can see if these players would be great reserves for our Atlanta Falcons.

The starting quarterback will be Matt Schaub doesn’t it feel like he’s been a backup for like thirty years or maybe it is just me.

You will see our first round draft pick Chris Lindstrom to solidify that right side of the O-line, unfortunately you will not see our other first round pick Kaleb McGary  because he had a minor surgery no time table of when he will get back according to the Falcons coaching staff.

A steal in the draft is cornerback Kendall Sheffield who because of a torn pectoral we were able to get him in the 4th round. He is having an excellent camp and could be our third cornerback this season. You will see him plenty in tonight’s game.

An exciting player to watch is un-drafted Receiver/Return Specialist is 5’8 190 soaking wet out of Virginia is Olamide Zaccheaus. The coaching staff says he is quick elusive and hard to catch in open space, however he’s not a great route runner, skeptical on his hands and because of his size in contact situation holds him back.

If you get him some space, he can make a lot of defenders miss him and he will be exciting to watch. It’s like hitting the juke button all the time in Madden when you see him in the open field.

Our all-star kicker Matt Bryant is no longer here our new kicker is Giorgio Tavecchio I hope he can except the challenge he is replacing Money Matt. Giorgio has the leg but time will tell if he has the heart when it’s seconds left and the Falcons are down but two and the kick is up…………only time will tell.

Lastly the new rule for this season is the offensive and defensive pass interference. This can be reviewed by the officials in the final two minutes of the game. Of course this was an issue last season when the Saints cried about the push in the NFC championship game.

This new rule only for this season will challenge all teams during those crucial final minutes of the season.  Are you ready for some football! You see I’m still trying to get excited for preseason football… Yeah!
