TOP STORIES

Latest Almiron Rumors

When Almiron transfer talks first picked up late in the 2018 season, the rumors had him heavily linked to a move into the Premier League to play for Arsenal. The latest rumors to surface connect him to La Liga. Real Betis is the team within the Spanish league that is said to have interest in the 24-year-old playmaker.

Possible Target?

Rumors and reports coming in this week have Atlanta United tied to 25-year-old Emiliano Rigoni. The Winger from Argentina is currently playing for Serie A side Atalanta B.C. on loan from Zenit. Rigoni has also made a previous appearance with the Argentine National Team. Rigoni currently has 3 goals in 12 Serie A appearances and a current market value of around €7.00 million ($7.98 Million). Is this a player you would like to see Atlanta pursue?

Barco Concerns

It was reported earlier this week that Attacking Midfielder, Ezequiel Barco, suffered a knee injury while with the Argentine U-20 team. Upon return, Atlanta United staff released the diagnosis of right knee Tendinitis. Although the injury is said to not be very serious, Barco is expected to miss the start of training camp (Jan.14). Giving the attacking midfielder the proper time to fully heal, depending on how long initial recovery takes, could cause Barco to miss Atlanta’s first two champions league games as well (Feb.21 & Feb.28).

Our Youth

The Atlanta United U-19 Academy team scored two huge victories this week in the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Junior Cup. The Youth squad ended the week by grabbing a 4-3 win over Liverpool (Jan.5) and a dramatic last minute 3-2 victory over Rangers FC (Jan.6).
